Texas Orthopedics Expands to Serve the Growing Community

October 3, 2022Filed Under: General Tagged With: adult reconstruction, hip replacement, knee replacement, orthopedic surgeon, orthopedic surgery, orthopedic trauma, shoulder replacement, sports medicine

We are excited to announce the addition of four orthopedic surgeons to our experienced team of specialists.

Please help us welcome:

Parker Abblitt, MD

Fellowship Trained in Adult Joint Reconstruction
Northwest Austin, Cedar Park

Blake Turvey, MD

Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Trauma
Northwest Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock

Todd Walker, MD

Fellowship Trained in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Reconstruction and Replacement
Northwest Austin, Round Rock

Blake Schultz, MD

Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Trauma
Central Austin

When asked why they chose to join Texas Orthopedics, Drs. Abblitt, Turvey, Walker and Schultz all agree that our commitment to patient-centered care and the strong collegiality amongst physicians sets us apart.

“The addition of Drs. Abblitt, Turvey, Walker and Schultz allows us to meet the ever-increasing needs of our patients and continue to offer Central Texans access to highly specialized, convenient orthopedic care close to home,” said board certified orthopedic surgeon and Texas Orthopedics President Dr. John McDonald.

Passionate About Patient Care

Our new physicians are aligned with our care philosophy of always putting the patient first and ensuring exceptional outcomes and superior experiences.

Hear from the doctors why they are passionate about what they do:

“Hip and knee replacement can truly be a life altering surgery. I love helping patients take control over their chronic hip and knee pain and giving them the freedom to do the activities they like to do.” – Dr. Abblitt

“I enjoy taking the time to get to know each patient, their circumstances, and help accelerate their healing process through individualized plans. My passion is returning patients back to their sport, job, family and life. I take pride in my work and hope to build a connection with each patient to help them through whatever their issue may be.” – Dr. Turvey

“I love treating patients who are motivated to be active and return to sports or improve their health.  As a competitive college football athlete, I can relate to these types of patients. And as a type 1 diabetic and open heart surgery survivor, I also know what it is like to be a patient. When I am in the room with a patient, I want them to know they are my main focus.” – Dr. Walker

“I am passionate about trauma surgery because unlike most other orthopedic surgeries, patients never ‘plan’ on breaking their bones that day. We take people who are often having one of the worst days of their lives, and work hard to get them back to where they were before their accident. No patient or injury is the same, so each day and each case is unique and challenging in their own way.” – Dr. Schultz

If you have questions about our orthopedic, spine or rheumatology services, or would like to schedule an appointment with one of our specialists, book online or call (512) 439-1000.
