Texas Orthopedics Celebrates National Athletic Training Month

March 11, 2019Filed Under: General, texas orthopedics Tagged With: athletic trainer, fracture, National Athletic Training Month, orthopedic surgeon, overuse injuries, PM&R, sports injury doctor, strains and sprains

Our physicians are honored to treat patients every day in all of our clinics. But what we really love is getting out into the Austin community and being a part of the action with our local sports and the arts.

Texas Orthopedics serves as the official game/performance-side orthopedics physician for several groups around town, attending practices, games, and performances and treating any orthopedic injuries in Austin that may occur onsite.

March is National Athletic Training Month, and we are proud to partner with the following organizations and work on behalf of their athletes and dancers:

Professional Sports Teams and Organizations

Austin Spurs

Ballet Austin

Texas Stars

High Schools

Cedar Park High School

McNeil High School

Westwood High School

McCallum High School

Austin High School

Bowie High School

Hays High School

Lehman High School

Bastrop High School

St. Andrew’s School

St. Michael’s

Regents School of Austin

Some of the most common injuries we treat from the sidelines, on the courts, or backstage are fractures, muscle strains and sprains, and overuse injuries.

A huge thanks to all the athletic trainers out there for working so hard on behalf of our student and pro athletes and professional dancers–no game or show could ever go on without them!

National Athletic Training Month is organized each year by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association to honor the hardworking physicians and trainers who put in just as much time and effort as the athletes they are dedicated to caring for.

To make an appointment to address your own sports injury with any one of our board-certified orthopedic doctors, hand and foot surgeons, or PM&R specialists, visit us online anytime.
