Brian T. Hardy, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship trained in hand, elbow and shoulder surgery. He is board certified hand surgeon with a subspecialty certificate from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Hardy is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He has a special interest in minimally invasive endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery and all fractures of the upper extremity.
A native to Danville, Virginia, Dr. Hardy graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and Master of Business Administration. He then returned to his home state for medical school, earning his medical degree from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Hardy completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He further enhanced his training by completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery under the direction of Dr. Paul Dell at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Hardy was named by his peers to the Texas Monthly Super Doctors Rising Stars list from 2013-2015 and the Texas Monthly Super Doctors list from 2017-2022. Dr. Hardy has also been named an Austin Monthly Top Doctor in 2020 through 2023. Dr. Hardy is also one of the Texas Orthopedic team physicians that helps cover the Texas Stars Hockey games.
Dr. Hardy is an active member of the teaching faculty of Dell Medical School’s Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program where he is working to advance the field of musculoskeletal care and training in the next generation of physicians and surgeons. To learn more, please click here.
Dr. Hardy and his wife, Tara, have one son and three daughters. Outside of medicine, he enjoys golf, photography, movies, and Notre Dame football.
