Peter M. Garcia, Jr., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. Dr. Garcia practices general orthopedics and particularly enjoys managing trauma and sports injuries. He is distinguished as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS).
Dr. Garcia earned his bachelor of science in biology from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center.
Dr. Garcia serves on all area hospital medical staffs and was formerly orthopedic chief at Brackenridge Hospital. Dr. Garcia serves as a designated doctor for the Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission. He has been voted by his peers to the Texas Super Doctors list from 2009-2020. Dr. Garcia has recently been recognized locally as a 2021 Austin Monthly Top Doctor.
Dr. Garcia is married and the father of four daughters. He enjoys exercising, playing tennis, getaway weekends, watching movies, food and music festivals and spending time with his wife and daughters. He also speaks fluent Spanish.

Clinical Nurse Specialist for Dr. Peter Garcia
Victoria Cruz, RN, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC, RNFA is a board-certified adult clinical nurse specialist and surgical assistant for Dr. Peter Garcia. Vicky has worked with Dr. Garcia for over 10 years. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. She enjoys running and other exercise activities. Dr. Garcia and Vicky have worked as one unit in the diagnosis and treatment of their patients since 2007.
