Meet Elizabeth Stevie, MSN, MPH, APRN, AGCNS-BC
Clinical Nurse Specialist for Dr. Atilla Onan
Elizabeth “Beth” Stevie received her Bachelor of Science in Merchandising and her Master of Public Health from the University of Kentucky. Beth always knew she wanted to have a greater impact on patients so she returned to school to earn her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas. Prior to starting a career as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, she had successful positions in healthcare as a health services coordinator, a women’s health coach, and an inpatient dialysis nurse. For Beth, nursing fulfills an intrinsic need to help people live a high-quality life with optimal health. Her passion for orthopedics originated from her once being a patient at Texas Orthopedics. Her own experience allows her to empathize with patients and serves as a reminder to treat everyone with an individualized, holistic approach while keeping their health goals in mind. She is dedicated to health promotion and educating patients because it empowers them to make informed decisions regarding their orthopedic injuries. For Beth, it is incredibly rewarding to see patients progress through increased range of motion, gaining strength, improving mobility, and ultimately recovery.
Beth has lived in Texas since 2007, following her 3 sisters to eventually land in Austin. Outside of the clinic, Beth is a kiln glass artist and frequently donates her art to fundraisers, including pieces for the Austin Zoo Revue, Dogtoberfest, and a local STEM program. She creates glass art lights, jewelry, decorative pieces, functional pieces, and holiday ornaments. Beth is an avid Kentucky Wildcats sports fan and has served as the local alumni club president. Also, now a proud UT graduate, she loves cheering for and supporting her second alma-mater. Her greatest joy is her furbaby–an energetic, spoiled rotten Maltese named Pita.
