Andrew Pham, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained spine surgeon at Texas Orthopedics specializing in disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine.
Dr. Pham completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University with honors, and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Following graduation, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina / Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center where he served as chief resident during his final year. He then went on to complete the prestigious Harvard Spine Surgery Fellowship in Boston, MA. During fellowship training he worked at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both recognized nationally as top-tier healthcare facilities.
Following the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Pham practiced in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia). Alongside his growing practice, he was also honored to teach at George Washington University’s Orthopedic Surgery residency program, care for University’s Division 1 athletes, and continue his spinal research.
Dr. Pham is a member (and past president) of the Gold Humanism Honor Society which recognizes physicians for their commitment to compassionate care. He believes in providing total patient care with a focus on non-operative treatment options, when appropriate and effective, before offering surgical treatment. When surgery is essential, he endeavors to utilize minimally invasive surgical procedures and motion-sparing techniques.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Pham stays active by playing soccer, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors. He also appreciates music by attending concerts, playing the piano and the guitar. Along with speaking English, he is conversational in Vietnamese and can understand basic Spanish.
