Dr. Bergin attended undergraduate school at Texas Tech University, receiving a BS in Zoology. She received her medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. She completed her orthopedic residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center and Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bergin is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She practices general orthopedics and as one of the founders of the group, plays an active role in the governing of Texas Orthopedics. Dr. Bergin is active on several committees and serves on the medical staffs of all area hospitals. Dr. Bergin currently serves as the Medical Director for Austin Surgical Hospital.
She and her husband, Paul Nader, M.D., have two children. While residents of Austin, they also enjoy horses and cattle at their ranch in Smithville, Texas. An experienced equestrienne in the performance horse sports of reining, cutting, and cow horse, Dr. Bergin has twice won Top 10 honors at the National Reined Cow Horse Association’s world championship. She is an author in her spare time. In November 2007, Sunstone Press released Dr. Bergin's first novel, Endings. It won an Eric Hoffer Award in general fiction category.
