W. Randall Schultz, MD is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. Dr. Schultz specializes in orthopedic sports medicine and total joint replacement. He has a special interest in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, minimally Invasive knee and hip replacement, computer navigated surgery, and hip resurfacing arthroplasty.
Dr. Schultz is a native Austinite and a graduate of Austin High School where he was the starting varsity quarterback for four years before earning a football scholarship to Rice University. At Austin High, Dr. Schultz set Austin High and AISD records in passing yardage. He was inducted in the Maroon Society as graduating senior. After several knee injuries sidelined his football career, Dr. Schultz graduated from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Schultz attended Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed a General Surgery Internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Training at Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. While at Dartmouth, Dr. Schultz also earned a Masters Degree in Outcomes Research and Evidence Based Medicine. During his Sports Medicine Fellowship, Dr. Schultz gained vast experience in treating athletic injuries at all levels, from high school to the professional level.
Dr. Schultz enjoys the academic pursuit of medicine and has published several articles about ACL Reconstruction. Dr. Schultz is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Schultz has one daughter and enjoys hunting, golf, and sports of all kinds.
