Robert Schoen, Jr., MD earned his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston. He completed both General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery Residencies at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Schoen completed a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Schoen is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle in adolescents and adults.
Dr. Schoen is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Texas Medical Association, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, and the Travis County Medical Association. He is on staff at most local area hospitals.
When Dr. Schoen is not in the office, you are sure to find him on the Austin Steam Train. Currently, he volunteers as the President of the Austin Steam Train Association where he is the Chief Operating Officer as well as a qualified locomotive engineer on the Flyer Trains. He and his wife are members of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America, raising registered Texas Longhorns on their ranch in Burnet County.
