Barbara L. Bergin, MD
Orthopedic Surgeon, General Orthopedics
Dr. Bergin is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where she attended both undergraduate school and medical school. She completed her Orthopedic Residency at the University of Missouri Medical Center and Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bergin is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She practices general orthopedics and as one of the founders of the group, plays an active role in governing of Texas Orthopedics. Dr. Bergin has been named by her peers to the Super Doctors® list in 2010 and 2011.
She and her husband, Paul Nader, MD, have two children. While residents of Austin, they enjoy horses and cattle at their ranch in Smithville, Texas. An experienced equestrienne in the western horse sports of reining, cow horse and cutting, Dr. Bergin won 4th place in reining in the 2011 American Quarter Horse Association Select National Championship and has won Top 10 honors in National Reined Cow Horse Association's world championships. She and Senor are again qualified for the 2012 AQHA Select World Championship next August. She sees a first place buckle with her name on it.
In November 2007, Sunstone Press released Dr. Bergin's first novel,
Endings. It won an Eric Hoffer Award in general fiction category and was a finalist in the New Mexico Book Awards. Read about

Chad Fontana, PA-C is a Board Certified Physician Assistant for Dr. Barbara Bergin. Chad joined Texas Orthopedics in May 2000. Chad received his Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Louisiana State University Medical Center at Shreveport. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
